Injured Extra in 'Transformers 3'

 

The production company filming “Transformers 3” has decided to cancel plans to shoot the final scenes in Chicago when  a bank teller working as an extra was seriously injured this week.
The filming of the action movie was set to finish on  Thursday, with final scenes being shot at Millennium Park, the city said. However, plans were scrapped when  Gabriela Cedillo, 24, was hit in the head Wednesday night while filming in Hammond, Ind.
“ ‘Transformers’ has completed their filming in Chicago,” said Richard Moskal, director of the Chicago Film Office in the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. “The filming that was canceled was not rescheduled.”
According to relatives, Cedillo is still unconscious Friday, in serious but stable condition at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Meanwhile, the production company  has issued  a statement saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Gabriela, her family and loved ones. We are looking into what caused the accident.”
The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration started an investigation into the incident. OSHA must first determine whether Cedillo, as a paid extra, was hired as an independent contractor or as an employee. If she was hired as an employee, OSHA would have jurisdiction.
“We're looking into the general circumstances that led to the accident and the employment status of the victim,” Lotter said. “Once we determine the circumstances, we will look into if there were safety violations or training issues.”
Cedillo was hurt while  the movie crew filmed a scene in Hammond that has drivers moving along a busy highway as explosions went off in the opposite lane. A metal object struck through the windshield of her car and struck her in the head.
Her car did not stop, as it skidded along the inner median concrete barrier for about a mile before coming to a halt, Indiana state police said.
 

Official: Kara DioGuardi leaves American Idol

It has been made official, Kara DioGuardi will not come back for the 10th season of American Idol. This news was announce by Fox during a press release this evening. It came out from an email before the Labor Day weekend.
“I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol,” said DioGuardi, in a statement released by Fox. “I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol  — it has truly been an amazing experience. I am grateful to FOX, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, as well as the cast, crew and contestants, for all they have given to me. I look forward to my next challenge, and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!”
For several weeks, speculations have been going around why Kara can't come back. There are reasons about ratings, and that she was not favored to a three-person judges' panel.
Nevertheless, the people at Idol will miss DioGuardi.
 

Kristen Bell admits she can't dance

Talented as she is, but Kristen Bell can't heat the dance floor.
Bell gets to show off her moves for new movie You Again, only to discover she’sreally not a dancer.
“I grew up in a Jewish community so I got to bust a groove at a lot of weddings and bar mitzvahs,” explains Kristen.
“I had all these moves that I thought were the bomb then I go and do them for this movie and the director says, ‘That’s great. You look ridiculous. Keep doing that. It’s hilarious.’ I thought, ‘Great. I thought it looked good!’.”
Bell admitted she was a cross between “popular and nerdy” during her high-school days.
“I think I was somewhere in between popular and nerdy,” she said. “I went to a very small school where the consequences of bullying were a lot more dramatic than they were at a big school. You couldn’t just walk down the hall and shove a nameless face because we all knew each other’s families. There wasn’t a stereotypical bully.
“But in high school, I was just very insecure because I was always so concerned that everybody liked me so I was just very sweet, a little meeker than I am now, but I was really just so hopeful that I wouldn’t fight with anybody.”

T.I. Could End up Multiple-Year Jail Sentence For Drug Charges

Rapper T.I.'s arrest for drug possession on Wednesday could place him back in jail, says Steven Knowles, a lawyer not representing the "Got Your Back" rapper singer.
Together with T.I., his wife, Tameka Cottle, was also arrested in West Hollywood.
Deputies stopped their car when a smell of marijuana and nabbed them on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
Talk about bad timing.  His film "Takers", which he starred in as well as co-executive produced, opened in theaters at No. 1 last weekend. Then his album, ironically called "King Uncaged", is set to be released  on  September 28.
He just married Cottle in July, and was released from a halfway house in March.
This incident could put his life on a different track.
According to Lawyer Steven Knowles, if convicted, T.I. could face a multiple-year jail sentence. "This is big-time," Knowles told Yahoo! Music. "I really don't envy his defense lawyer."
Earlier, he has served three months in the halfway house, T.I. spent seven months in a federal prison in Arkansas for illegal possession of firearms  and possessing a gun as a convicted felon.

Singer Lady Gaga displays  her inner State of Liberty as she struck a pose with designer icon Marc Jacobs on the cover of V magazine. The said issue  is already out and available on newsstands TODAY September 2.

GaGa said what she loves about New York City in the spread, which also features NY-based artists, including Debbie Harry, Scissor Sisters‘ Jake Shears and model Liya Kebede.

“New York puts things in perspective,” Gaga said simply.
