Tax evasion case of John Lloyd Cruz

Actor John Lloyd Cruz  is facing a tax related case.

A lawsuit had been filed against award winning actor due to  failure to surrender his accounting books to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

BIR filed a tax related case against John Lloyd Cruz after the actor’s defiance to a subpoena under the issuance by the Quezon City Office of the Prosecutor requiring him to surrender his accounting books to the BIR.

According to the reports, John Lloyd supposedly failed to appear twice before BIR’s Legal Division Chief.

His actions prompted the Bureau to file a tax related case against him.

John Lloyd’s representative quickly clarified that John Lloyd is not facing tax evasion. The case however, is in relation to his alleged non-appearance despite the subpoena.

Meabwhile, Star Magic, camed to John Lloyd's defense by saying that the actor’s accounting books are clean from any discrepancy.

If convicted, John Lloyd might go to jail.
