Cheryl Cole Protested for Taking Unsecured Loan

It was not easy for British singer Cheryl Cole  after telling she took an unsecured loan to kick start her career.

This got the attention of the anti-debt campaigners.

The Girls Aloud singer confessed she borrowed from a neighborhood 'loan shark' to assist her fund her dreams as a teenager growing up in Newcastle, England.

She said, "I got a temporary loan from the guy that comes round your house, to get myself something - some hairspray, make-up and an outfit. It was the latest thing from (clothes store) River Island. It was the top everyone wanted."

However charity campaigners claimed her remarks is not a good example for young girls, who could turn up with huge debts because of high  interest rates charged by unofficial lenders.

Cheryl Cole Awarded at Glamour Women of the Year

Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday, June 8,   presented British singer Cheryl Cole the Woman of the Year prize.

The Girls Aloud star was voted by readers of the magazine's British edition. Cheryl Cole launched a solo pop career in 2009.

Other Awardees were : Rockers Florence and the Machine took Band of the Year honors at the prize giving, Lily Allen received the Solo Artist of the Year award. Australian pop star-turned-TV host Dannii Minogue was named TV Personality of the Year for her judging panel role on Simon Cowell's talent show "The X Factor" and pregnant director Sam Taylor-Wood landed the Filmmaker of the Year title, while her fiance, Aaron Johnson, was celebrated as Man of the Year.

John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono was presented with the Outstanding Contribution accolade. Hollywood was represented in the form of "Avatar"'s Zoe Saldana, who got the Film Actress of the Year, while "Glee" star Lea Michele hitched the TV Actress of the Year honor and Nicole Richie was hailed Entrepreneur of the Year.

Cheryl Cole Dating Derek Hough- Dad Confirms

Reports say British singer Cheryl Cole is dating Derek Hough.

The information came from American dancer's father. The Girls Aloud star has become close to Hough after her break-up from her husband, soccer ace Ashley Cole, earlier this year, and danced with him as she wen to see the Black Eyed Peas on their recent U.K. tour.

"For Derek, this is true love. There is no doubt about it. He is totally in love with her. And it's easy to see why. She is one hell of a girl. Very talented and incredibly beautiful," says Hough's father in Britain's Sunday Mirror.

"I know Derek is in love with her because he has told me he is in love with her and I think she feels the same way about him. She is the girl of his dreams and he is desperate to be with her. He would follow her to the ends of the Earth. He and his new lady are going off on a romantic holiday. I can't say where as he'd kill me."

"After that, who knows what is going to happen? But this girl is very special to Derek and he is at a point in his life where he is ready to settle down. He is ready to be in love and make that commitment. Derek is looking for a new home in Los Angeles, so he can have his own space and we will just have to wait and see what the future holds."
