Scanning 318,000 downloads this week after her sensational performance at MTV Movie Awards over the weekend, it becomes the fastest-rising single released by a Capitol Records artist in more than 40 years.
On top of the reigning Hot 100, "California Gurls" features rapper Snoop Dogg on the hook also tops Digital Songs chart, marking for a third consecutive week it sits atop the list. Furthermore, the first single of Katy Perry's August 24 release "Teenage Dream" jumps from No. 10 to No. 6 on Radio Songs chart.
